Who uses it
- Pilots — log flights, carry baseline hours forward from a paper logbook, store certificates and endorsements in the Pilot Vault, track Milestones toward a rating, and run a Go/No-Go report before a flight.
- Instructors — one instructor record per person. Flight instructors (CFI) confirm flights, post dual given, write endorsements and flight reviews. Ground instructors (CGI) run ground school courses and post class sessions straight to a student's logbook. Many instructors do both.
- Organizations — flight schools and FBOs keep the instructor directory, the aircraft records, the schedule and the ground school course catalog.
- Insurers — order the specific pilot reports they are authorized to see, with the pilot's permission.
How the pieces fit together
Your records belong to you. A school or instructor never quietly takes them over; instead, you connect to a school or an instructor, and the connection is what lets them post to your logbook or see your progress. End the connection and your records stay with you.
