Log Scan Pro reads from public and official aeronautical data services:
- FAA — aircraft registration data for N-number lookup, the NOTAM service, and the Digital Obstacle File for obstacles and wires.
- Aviation Weather Center and the National Weather Service — METARs, TAFs, SIGMETs, AIRMETs, winds and temperatures aloft.
- OurAirports — airport reference data and coordinates, used to fill in fields that are missing and to look up airports you add manually.
- USGS — terrain and elevation data for the corridor analysis.
Retrieval is throttled and every fetch is stored as a timestamped snapshot, so a report is always
reproducible and the upstream services are treated politely.
These are aids. None of this replaces an official preflight weather briefing or current charts.
When a data source fails, the report says so in the detail panels rather than quietly omitting the
hazard.
