What we draw on
- Weather — official observations, terminal forecasts and area products
- NOTAMs — the FAA NOTAM service
- Airports and runways — official airport data, including identifiers, runways, lighting and time zones
- Instrument approach charts — published approach plates for the airports in your flight
- Terrain — elevation data along your route
Freshness
Everything is labelled. Data fetched just now says so; anything reused says Cached with its age in plain words. You are never shown old information presented as current.
Outages
When a source is unavailable, the report says which one rather than leaving a silent gap. Background checks watch the feeds continuously and raise an alert when one stops answering, so a problem is chased rather than left to degrade reports quietly.
Time
Aviation data is published in Zulu (UTC). Log Scan Pro shows local time for planning with the Zulu equivalent beside it, and names the destination airport's own time zone.
Not for navigation
These sources support your decision making. Your official preflight briefing and current charts remain your authority for the flight.
Marine and special-flight data
- NOAA buoys and ocean forecasts: wave height, swell and water temperature for flights over water
- Weather station locations: used to warn when a route runs far from any report
