Instructors
Everything an instructor does in Log Scan Pro lives in one workspace, whether you teach in the air, on the ground, or both.
In this section
- Getting started as an instructor
- School-employed or independent
- Your students
- Logging a lesson
- Endorsements and flight reviews
- Courses and ground school
- Your instructor record
One record, ratings-driven
You have one instructor record. What you are called comes from the ratings on your certificate — CFI, Ground Instructor (CGI), or CFI / CGI. A ground instructor is never labelled a CFI.
Approval
Instructor accounts are reviewed before the workspace opens. If you named a school, the school confirms you as well. You'll be emailed when it is done.
Already listed by a school?
A school may have created your record before you signed up. Claim it rather than creating a second one — use Find my instructor record.
The Instructors page
For an instructor, the Instructors page shows your own area: a link to your workspace and the schools you teach for. The Schools and organizations card appears only if you manage a school. Pilot features — choosing instructors, connecting with a ground instructor — are covered in Choosing your instructors.
Renting an aircraft for yourself
Open Schedule from your instructor area and use Rent an aircraft for yourself. Pick a school you actively teach for, then an aircraft and time. If the school has auto-confirm on and your medical, flight review and (for solo flying) 90-day landings are current, the booking confirms right away; otherwise the school reviews it. See Scheduling.
