Glossary

Access grant — a pilot's explicit, dated, purpose-bound authorization for an insurer to see specified records.

Baseline totals — the hours you had flown before you started logging in Log Scan Pro, carried forward so totals and Milestones are right.

Connection — an approved link between a pilot and a school or instructor. Always started by the pilot.

CFI — a certificated flight instructor.

CGI / Ground Instructor — an instructor certificated for ground instruction. Never labelled a CFI.

Course — a ground school class series published by an organization or an instructor.

Go/No-Go — a written pre-flight risk analysis for a specific flight, aircraft and pilot.

Ground school track — a Milestones track of knowledge subjects, credited by a provider. Free for all pilots.

IFR Insights — instrument currency, approaches by type and airport, and what is about to lapse.

Instructor record — one per instructor, shared across every school they work at.

Milestones — progress toward a certificate or rating, counted from your logbook and sign-offs.

Organization — a flight school, an FBO, or both.

Reported by your ground school — a Milestones subject credited by a named provider.

Snapshot — a fixed copy of the facts as they stood on a date; used for endorsements, reviews and insurer reports so later edits never change them.

Vault — private storage for certificates, medicals, endorsements and flight reviews.

Zulu / UTC — the time standard aviation weather and NOTAMs are published in.
