Log Scan Pro — The Smart Pilot's Logbook

Getting started as an instructor

Signing up

Choose Instructor on the sign-up page, then say whether you teach at a school or independently.
Signing up as an instructor

The ratings grid

You enter your certificate number and tick the ratings you hold — flight instructor, instrument, multi-engine, ground instructor and so on. This grid is mission critical: it decides what you are called, what you may sign off, and which students and courses you can take.

If you teach at a school

Name the school. It must already be registered with Log Scan Pro before you can connect to it — if it isn't, ask them to register first. The school confirms you as well as Log Scan Pro.

Approval

Instructor records are reviewed before the workspace opens. Until then you'll see a notice saying the review is pending. You'll get an email when it's approved.

Claiming an existing record

Schools often create instructor records for their staff before those instructors sign up. If that is you, use Find my instructor record instead of starting a new one, so your existing students, courses and history come with you. There is one instructor record per person — duplicates are flagged for review.
