Frequently asked questions

Is ground school really free? Yes. All three ground school Milestones tracks — private, instrument and commercial — are free for every pilot, permanently, and cost nothing to schools or instructors either. An optional Ground School Premium layer adds instructor grading and printable reports for pilots who want them.

Can I get a refund on a premium purchase? Yes. Every training premium carries a 10-day money-back guarantee from the purchase date, for any reason — see Refunds. Go/No-Go reports are refundable until generated instead.

Can I look around before signing up? Yes — the live demo at /demo shows the pilot, instructor, organization and insurer workspaces with fictional sample data. Nothing is saved.

How does a school earn commission? When a student connected to your school buys a premium training product, the school earns a flat 30%. It's tracked on the Commissions page — reported, not paid out, in the app.

Can I do ground school on my own? No. Ground school subjects are credited by a school or ground instructor you are connected to. The record is worth something precisely because a named provider reported it.

Why is a Milestones track missing? Switch it on in Settings. Ground school tracks switch themselves on when a school accepts you into a course or posts credit.

Why are my totals short? Usually because baseline totals haven't been entered. Enter the hours you flew before joining and everything recalculates.

Why can't I see a course? You're not connected to the school or instructor running it, or the course is still a draft.

Why is a student missing from my attendance list? Attendance shows only pilots enrolled in the selected course. Approve their enrollment request first.

I'm an instructor and my workspace says "not active yet". Instructor records are reviewed before the workspace opens; a school-affiliated instructor also needs the school's confirmation. If a school already created your record, use Find my instructor record to claim it.

Can I train at two schools? Yes, as many as you like. One logbook, separate connections.

Does an insurer see my logbook because they insure my school? No. They need your authorization, for a stated purpose and period, and you can withdraw it.

Can I hide menu items I don't use? Yes — Pilot preferences has a switch for each.
