Your instructor record

Your instructor record

What it holds

  • Legal name and contact details
  • Certificate number, instructor types and ratings
  • Recent-experience-through date and certificate expiry
  • Certificate image and signature image
  • Active status and verification date
  • The schools you work at, each with its own dates and details

Why it matters

Every endorsement, review and lesson you sign draws on this record, and each completed record keeps a copy of it as it stood that day. Keeping it current is what keeps your students' paperwork clean.

One record per person

There is one instructor record per instructor, shared across every school you work at. If a school created a record for you before you signed up, claim it rather than making a second — duplicates are flagged for review.

Your signature

Sign once, on your Instructor Profile, and every endorsement, review and completion record uses it. You can either draw the signature with a mouse, trackpad or finger, or upload a scan or photo of it (JPG, PNG or WEBP up to 5 MB) and check the preview before saving. Either way you confirm it as your adopted signature, it is held in private storage, and records already signed keep the signature they were signed with.

Ratings decide your label

CFI, Ground Instructor (CGI), or CFI / CGI — taken from the ratings you hold. A ground-only instructor is never shown as a CFI.

Keeping current

Credentials are verified by your school or an administrator and cannot be edited here.
Your own published instruction rates. A school you fly for may set rates that take precedence.
