IFR Insights records instrument work at the level that actually matters: the individual approach.
A session is one instrument flight or training event. Inside it you log one row per approach
— the type flown, the conditions, the outcome, and the instructor's evaluation. A session can hold as
many approaches as you flew.
Why it is separate from the logbook
Your logbook records how much instrument time you flew. IFR Insights records what you actually did
with it: which approach, under what conditions, how it went, and what to work on next. Together they
tell the story an examiner or an insurer wants to hear.
