Choosing your instructors
Open Instructors from the pilot menu. One hub holds everyone who teaches you, with two branches: flight instructors and ground instructors.
Labels
An instructor's label comes from the ratings on their certificate:
- CFI — a flight instructor
- Ground Instructor (CGI) — ground only
- CFI / CGI — both
A ground-only instructor is never shown as a CFI.
My instructors (flight)
In My instructors, pick one of your confirmed schools from the dropdown. Its instructors appear with two switches: My CFIs (add them to your list) and Primary CFI (only at your home school). No confirmed school yet? The page says so and links to My Flight School.
An instructor can have a record in Log Scan Pro without having an account yet — you can still choose them, and their record links up if they sign in later.
Connecting with a ground instructor
Under Connect with a ground instructor, choose from the dropdown — it lists every active ground instructor with their school, or "Independent instructor". Press Request. Instructors you're already connected to or waiting on don't appear in the list.
Saving one
Saving an instructor puts them on your list so they can post lessons, write endorsements and sign off Milestones items. Your saved list is your history too — past instructors stay there with the work they signed.
Your schools themselves are managed on My Flight School; the two pages link to each other.
Hiding the page
If you don't take instruction, switch Instructors off in Pilot preferences.
