How phases work
A track is broken into phases, and each phase holds items: hours, maneuvers, knowledge subjects and documents.
Three ways an item is credited
- Automatically from your logbook — hour requirements, cross-country distances, night landings, approaches.
- By your instructor — maneuvers and phase sign-offs from their workspace.
- By your ground school — knowledge subjects, shown with a Reported by your ground school badge and the school's name.
Progress
Each phase shows a percentage and each item shows its state: met, partly met with the figure so far, or Not yet reported. The track percentage is simply how much of the whole syllabus is done.
Order
Phases are laid out in the order most training follows, but nothing is locked. Credit lands wherever it belongs, whichever order you fly it in.
What Milestones is not
It is not an authorization and not a substitute for your instructor's judgement or the regulations. It tells you what your records show. The decision that you are ready for a check ride belongs to your instructor and the examiner.
If something looks wrong
- An hours item short? Check your baseline totals.
- An instructor item missing? Ask the instructor to sign it off.
- A ground school subject missing? Your school posts it when the class covering it is taught.
