Fixed-wing air ambulance
On the request form
Use the normal airplane form and choose Medical (air ambulance) as the purpose of flight. One extra drop-down appears:
- Medevac leg — Outbound, Patient on board, Organ or Empty return.
Everything else — alternate, fuel, waypoints, notes — works as described in Building the request.
What the report adds
- The 1-2-3 alternate check and 800/2 alternate minimums.
- Runway contamination checks — FICON reports and frozen precipitation.
- One short Mission pressure note tailored to the medevac leg.
- A MEDEVAC priority note when a PPR, closure or TFR notice applies — a medevac callsign waives neither, and priority never lowers minimums or fuel reserve.
- For piston singles and twins, an engine-failure-after-takeoff brief with the escape line on the departure map.
- One advisory early-morning fatigue item for launches between midnight and 06:00 local.
None of these change the verdict on their own.
Helicopter EMS has its own article: EMS scenes and medevac.
