It is not uncommon for pilots to use more than one FBO or flight school. A commercial student, for example, may need a high-performance aircraft for advanced training, and their home school's only high-performance aircraft is down for long-term maintenance. If another school on Log Scan Pro has one available, the pilot can link to that school directly and rent it there — no second account, no duplicate logbook.
Linking to an additional school
On the My Flight School page, search for any approved, active school by name or airport identifier and request a link. The school sees the request in its connection queue and approves it.
You can link to as many schools as you need. Each link is independent: one school's approval or denial has no effect on the others.
If the school you want is not yet on Log Scan Pro, they will need to register first. A school must have an approved, active organization account before pilots can request a link to it.
Home school
One confirmed school is your home school. The first school that confirms you is flagged home automatically; you can change it at any time from the My Flight School page.
The home school is used as the default wherever a single school is needed — insurance reports, scheduling defaults, and your primary CFI.
Your instructors at each school
Each confirmed school expands to show its own CFI roster with two toggles:
- My CFI — turn this on for any instructor you fly with at that school: check rides, IPCs, rentals, or dual instruction.
- My Primary CFI — only one primary is allowed across all your schools, and that instructor must be at your home school. The primary switch is disabled on any non-home school's roster, with an explanatory note. Those instructors can still be turned on as My CFI.
Changing your home school clears the primary flag if your current primary teaches elsewhere. You will be prompted to pick a new primary from the new home school's roster.
Aircraft from every linked school
Tail numbers from every approved school you are linked to appear in your aircraft list alongside your own — so the second-school-airplane scenario works without any extra setup. You still need the normal checkout and pilot qualifications at that school; the link just makes the aircraft visible and schedulable.
Removing a school link
You can remove a school link at any time. That school's instructors drop off your lists and its aircraft stop appearing, but everything already logged — flights, endorsements, training records — is preserved.
Multi-location flight schools
Some companies operate more than one location. On Log Scan Pro, each location is its own school account with its own schedule, fleet, instructors, and pilots — but the company can tie them together under an operating group.
- For the company: a group administrator sees every location side by side on the Company Overview page, with today's bookings, aircraft counts, instructor counts, and pending approvals. A location switcher at the top of the school dashboard moves between locations instantly. Group administrators inherit management access to every location; location staff see only their own location.
- For pilots: you link to each location separately, just as you would to any two schools. A pilot checked out at one location is not automatically checked out at another — each location sets its own checkout requirements. If the same instructor or aircraft is shared across locations in the group, that relationship is handled behind the scenes; nothing extra appears on your end.
Removing a school link preserves historical records, so ending a connection never loses a flight, endorsement, or training entry.
